Portrait: A Century of Israeli Art

IsraeliFilms is pleased to present  Portrait – A Century of Israeli Art - a documentary series surveying one hundred years of art in Israel, touching upon the wounds and conflicts of Israeli existence: immigration, exile, the Zionist dream, ideological crises, Mediterranean myths, tension between east and west, between private and public, between center and periphery.

The ten episodes, all English narrated, are offered as a series (for the community or university), or as stand alone 45 minutes documentaries. The personal stories of the featured artists are put in historical context and provide keys to understanding their work.Rare archival footage from the artists' private collections, are integrated into the series.
