A Film by Julie Shles ( Israel, 2005, 90 Minutes, Color, Hebrew, English subtitles, Cast: Sigalit Fuchs,Tal Friedman, Dorit Lev-Ari, Keren Mor )
Joy Levine lives in a decrepit apartment building that stands in total contrast to Joy herself: shabby and worn-out on the outside while well-kept and filled with joy on the inside.
Her life changes when she signs up to be a candidate for a reality TV show titled “Gotta' Be Happy”. To her astonishment, she is chosen to throw a surprise party for her parents' anniversary on the upcoming show. In return, she has to allow viewers into her private inner world and share with them an event that has overshadowed her entire life and almost shattered her family's very existence.
The show, scheduled to air right after Yom Kippur, mirrors the holiday's theme of forgiveness, and calls for Joy to bring her family and their friends together in order to arrange for an on-air reconciliation.
However, mundane reality obstructs her efforts and calls for Joy to take charge of her life for the first time.
